CS Analyst/Sr. CS Analyst - Build & Release,Software Configuration Management

Job Description

The candidate shall primarily be required to set-up software/system configuration services competence within the IM Systems Group. The candidate would be responsible for version / code management, application build / release management & automation. The candidate would also be required to administer & maintain the environments & systems required for version control, build & automation and other application project/lifecycle management tools.



Key Responsibilities

* Set-up and maintain software/system configuration services within the IM Systems Group.
* Secure / control application code for all stages of the development life cycle for multiple projects and versions.
* Configure, administer & support the SCM environments and code repositories.
* Version control, labelling / base lining, branching/merging etc… of application code.
* Establish, administer and support continuous integration / build automation servers & distribution/release servers.
* Set-up CI / build automation for various project teams.
* Co-ordinate and promote releases to various deployment environments.
* Establish best practices, guidelines & governance principles for various offerings like for SCM, build management / automation etc …Educate development teams around these.
* Establish build / release reporting and auditing.
* Participate in Implementation Planning of various projects and contribute towards their SCM, build/release and lifecycle management needs.
* Provide support to developers and resolve their problems related to SCM, build scripts, automation etc..
* Effectively collaborate and liase with Development, Architecture and Infrastructure teams to plan and execute above activities
* Promote/Support chosen development methodology and ensuring Standards and Procedures are followed.
* Analyse and set up new tool sets required by project teams during the project lifecycle



Experience and Qualifications

* B.E. / B.Tech. or M.C.A. in Computer Science from a reputed University.
* At least 5 years of relevant industry experience
* Proven record of achievements as a configuration management / services specialist for global deployments.
* Experience of providing configuration management support to Java/J2ee and .NET based development teams.
