Job Description
The successful candidate would be expected to be a part of the QA/testing group within the Investment Management Technology group, which would be responsible for all aspects of testing on product implementation, multi-platform, multi-client systems, developed on varied platforms. The test analyst would be responsible for leading/supporting the system testing for multiple systems/program. Experience and understanding of agile delivery methodology, test automation concepts and experience would be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
ð Liaising with the Program manager, development managers, delivery leads and defines the system test strategy for the development projects, Product implementations. Participating the project inception meetings and provide the testing oversight to the group. Test estimation and planning.
ð Liaising with the Business analyst and develop the strong understanding of the business processes and system requirements
ð Developing the test plans including the detailed test cases and ensuring maximum test coverage
ð Assisting in the creation and being responsible for the application of Testing standards, process, procedure and methodology across all test areas.
ð Planning and execution of tests in efficient and organised way.
ð Accurately reporting test preparation and execution progress.
ð Promote the principles of good testing, transferring skills to other IT staff as appropriate.
ð Maintain a current working knowledge of the key business systems and future developments.
ð Work to agreed standards and procedures.
ð Be hands-on with testing key components of applications.
ð Identification of non functional test scenarios based on the non functional requirements.
Experience and Qualifications
q B.E./B.Tech. or M.C.A. in Computer Science or MBA (Finance preferred) from a reputed University.
q 2.5 + years of hands on experience in application testing (manual and automation) with an exposure to testing / analysis performance of application for Test Analyst.
q Proven record of achievements in testing teams.
q Experience of complete project lifecycle execution of projects.
q Experience of working with multi-cultural and geographically disparate teams.
Essential Skills / Experience
q Candidate must be familiar with the Mutual Funds and Investment Management industry
q Exposure to any structured software development life-cycle methodology (preferably Agile or Iterative development). Knowledge of Agile delivery methodology.
q Experience and working knowledge of tools such as Quality centre, Win Runner / QTP, Load runner)
q Ability to liaise with a number of stakeholders in application development and business groups
q Ability to think from a customer viewpoint and to understand the complexities of the business.
q Proven experience of creating test plans and test cases
q Ability to analyse defects and spot trends
q Ability to accurately log defects, escalate issues and risks and provide accurate management reporting.
q Thorough understanding of test principles such as unit, smoke, functional (black box/white box), user acceptance and usability testing.
q Thorough understanding of automation test principles
q Experience of working in tight deadlines in a mature ‘time-boxed’ testing environment
q Be able to demonstrate consistent and good judgement of assessing severity of issues.
q Knowledge or experience of VB Script
Desirable Skills / Experience
q Experience in test automation. Test tools knowledge such as QTP, Selenium
q ISEB certification or equivalent
q Understanding of technology with emphasis on the various layers in a multi-tiered architecture.
ð Exposure to a varied environments and products like
* SQL and Relational databases (Oracle & Sybase)
* J2EE technologies and the Websphere family of products
* C++/.NET and the Microsoft environment
