Project Leader - Program Management ( ITIL )

Job Description



This is a key role within the team and the successful candidate will own and facilitate the Programme management activities for the application maintenance and support projects. This role will help us deliver effective maintenance and support capability.



The Project Leader is expected to work closely with the Project Managers and co-ordinate various project activities.



Key Responsibilities



q Develop and continuously improve the maintenance/support processes & tools e.g. prioritisation of changes, estimation etc.

q Facilitate deployment of consistent processes and best practices across different projects.

q Provide support to the Project managers on a variety of tasks such as time tracking, budget forecasts/actuals, project reports, risk/issue management/tracking etc.

q Monitor service level metrics; Identify and drive implementation of improvement areas.

q Help manage financial control requirements (reporting, approvals, forecasting etc).

q Resource management – Resource levelling, leveraging resources across projects, support rota etc.

q Facilitate various support forums and drive improvement actions to closure.

q Monitor Compliance, Business Continuity related activities.

q Co-ordinate and of the process/infrastructure changes that impact multiple projects e.g. Internet Explorer upgrade, desktop upgrades, Autosys migration etc.

q Identify and mitigate project level risks; Ownership and resolution of issues.

q Manage buy-in and commitment from various other systems and support teams.

q Liaise with systems teams in India, Boston, UK, HK and Tokyo to understand and then incorporate regional needs.



Experience and Qualifications



q B.E./B.Tech. or M.C.A. from a reputed University.

q At least 6 years of relevant industry experience with more than 2 years in a management role.

q Proven record of experience/achievements in project development, implementation and people management.

q Experience of managing the development/improvement of application support processes

q Expertise in using MS Office products like PowerPoint, Visio and Excel

q Experience of complete project lifecycle execution from Requirements Analysis to Production Support.

q Experience of working with multi-cultural and geographically disparate teams.

q Experience /knowledge of ITIL based Service management practices

q Problem solving skills with the ability to think laterally, and to think with a medium term and long term perspective

q Initiative in keeping abreast of changing industry practices, tools and techniques.

q Self-motivation is essential, should demonstrate commitment to highest quality standards.

q Ability to develop & maintain working relationships with a number of stakeholders and senior professionals.

q Ability to learn and quickly get familiar with a complex business and systems environment.
