Analyst/Senior Analyst - Firewall,Security,Networking

Purpose of your role
Firewall Analyst/Sr. Analyst role providing first and second level support of the corporate Firewall infrastructures and Internet / Extranet services. This support role will encompass some out of hours work and may feature on call support. There will be some project work, usually at the implementation phase. Familiarity with data networking is advantageous.

Your key accountabilities
The day to day responsibilities will include security policy administration, infrastructure administration including upgrades and patching, providing technical input to the team, reviewing and developing existing internal processes and make recommendations for improvements and initiatives. This role will also involve project work, from design through to implementation.

Your skills and experience
• The applicant will require a background in UNIX systems, Networking and Firewall technologies.
• CCSA, CCSE qualifications are preferred but not essential.
• Experience in a similar role is essential, with 4+ years Firewall experience in a similar support role.
• The candidate will need to be prepared to be flexible in approach to work content and responsibilities, along with out of hours and on call support.
• Must be a self starter and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Ideal candidate should have a good understanding of ITIL problem and change management practices, working to defined service level agreements.
• It is vital that you can communicate with both business customers and technicians effectively.

• Essential skills
• Knowledge of Network Security and Firewalls technologies.
• Networking skills including TCP/IP, DNS and knowledge of Internet services such as proxies, email and FTP.
• Good TCP-IP knowledge, support and diagnosis skills to be able to troubleshoot problems effectively
• Knowledge of Vital QIP or Infoblox will be beneficial.
• Knowledge of Checkpoint NGX on Nokia IP Series platform/SPLAT essential.
• Knowledge of Juniper Netscreen/Junos Security Gateway appliance essential.
• Knowledge of Netscreen Security Manager (NSM).
• Knowledge of Checkpoint SMART Centre.
• Knowledge of F5 BIG-IP experience is essential, this includes knowledge of F5 GTM (3DNS), LTM (BIG-IP) & F5 EM.
• Knowledge of Bluecoat Secure Gateway appliance, Reporter & Director.
• Knowledge of Juniper IVE (Instant Virtual Extranet) SSG & SA appliance.
• Knowledge of Intrusion Prevention Systems such Tipping Point products etc.
• Good organisation and communication skills. Able to cope with demanding schedules and tight deadlines. Conscientious, able to communicate well with our customers at all levels, and have a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

• Desirable skills
• Checkpoint CCSA, CCSE certification
• Juniper JNCIA-Junos / JNCIA-FW / JNCIA-SSL certification.
• Bluecoat Certification like BCCPA.
• CISCO CCNA certification
• Knowledge of Sun Solaris/linux administration and experience with other UNIX platforms would be beneficial.
